Fairlight: My Beauty

Monday, October 27th, 2008

Another piece of tasty data poetry action (aka C64-demo) by Hollowman and me, released at X’2008 last weekend. My Beauty. It ended up at 5th place after four demos with coder porn (ie some really impressive new or improved demo effects). I tried my best to make a cute song, but it got a bit weird (at the end of the day). Gotowomb! Rumours has it this is Hollowman’s last demo, please convince him he’s wrong.

mazemod radio

Friday, August 29th, 2008

Mazemod is a new net radio with hot Amiga music! Acid, bass, and chip! Check it! This is an Amiga1200-intro by Otromatic with my song “fekk” (here played in an emulator so the bass is a bit mangled, for those that care). I also made a playlist with some of my favourite Amiga tunes a while ago - check the playlist-section, yeaaahoo!

Mazemod

Wednesday, August 13th, 2008

Mazemod is an internet radio that just got online, and serves us some of the freshest Amiga music out there. (and some new fresh design by otro aswell) I made a playlist with some of my favourite Amiga tunes out there, with the thought of showcasing some different styles of Protracker music. It includes 4-mat, Skope, Shout, Qwan, Niemo, Mortimer Twang, Loonie, Heatbeat, Groo, Duz, Dune, Bruno, Bit Arts, Audiomonster, 911, XTD. So relax - it’s pretty normal music this time! Muhahahahaaaa! Now go pack yourself.

Oh, and better not miss the Amiga intro announcing the release! Killer shit from Otro+Goto80, the duo of drum’n'radio! (it is demomania! the biggest sin in the amiga nerdoscene!)

Lamers in the Night

Tuesday, August 5th, 2008

HELLO. Back from this year’s LCP, hanging out with the C64 elite boys, trying to be friends although everybody is just there to win the compos. Hehe. Lately (as in the last years) I haven’t really been up to the challenge of making those winning songs anymore. The tunes I make at demoparties are usually a bit weirder. So bare with me..

Goto80 - Ponky my C64-song, got #3 in the competition. It’s some kind of dub-blues-rock, or something? Made on a 6581 but sounds best on 8580. The C64-emulator VICE does a pretty good job with this. Or, you can check out the ultra-sloppy remixes: MP3#1 and MP3#2.

Made music for two Amiga releases: Otro’s announcement intro for Mazemod - which is an online Amiga radio channel. (not yet really online though, hehe) And yeah, also made a quick’n'dirty module for the new DUREX release: The Message.

Me and Frantik also did a live-set that might pop up online sooner than Pat Boone. Or Bryan Adams. In the meantime you should definitely check out this youtube-clip - recorded in the middle of the first night of LCP… while you were sleeping, losers! Goto80 + Frantik - Summer of 64

Wastesphere 50O

Monday, July 7th, 2008

I went to Compusphere where Up Rough celebrated a 10 year anniversary again. Two Amiga intros released from us - one incredibly fresh, and one incredible mellow - and plenty of music from Qwan, Spot, Mortimer Twang (!), and Syphus. Download within 10 minutes and get an extra free download for free. Forever! I competed with an Amiga song in ST-01 stylee - Waste-Land - which ended #2 in the compo. I also competed with a C64-song that was mysteriously lost and re-appeared under the name kuk. Other good features: making a song with dj cat, laughing gas, goto80+labelable gig, the most expensive and expansive pizza I’ve ever had, the liveset from Sushi Brother, new SID-chip more confusing than ever, defmon, Yoki wiiballs, blablablabla.

Digital Sounds System: You Broke My Heart-Monitor

Monday, March 10th, 2008

Knoeki/DSS made a nice little glitchy C64 demo with my music in it. It’s my song ‘afternorm’ but remixed by fucking up the player, so it runs veeeeeeery slowly so you can hear the waveforms switching and even steps within the pitch-slides. Nice one! Check!

Rave Network Overscan #100

Saturday, February 16th, 2008

Rave Network Overscan, on Amiga since 1997, released their 100th release. So I made a little guest appearance. Requires AGA - sorry all Amiga500-heads out there! Check it out over at pouet or po-rno.fi.

EnoughRecords releases a collection of fonky Amiga songs by Goto80, including a remix by ioeb! Apart from the MP3s, the original MODs are also included (which are open source, so steal-remix-trash-yeah). Also, there is a musicdisk for Playstation Portable which means that you can copy it to your PSP and play the songs with exclusive videos by Raquel Meyers (who also made the cover-art). The PSP-production was made by EnoughRecords and Titan. Download: MOD or MP3 or EXE or everything.

The songs were made in Protracker 2.3 for Amiga, so if you want to check out the songs you should do it with that program. However, if you care more about keeping it easy than the songs sounding 100% correct you should download Renoise (PC/Mac) and throw the MOD-files in there. If you make something, I’d like to hear it!

Some kind of Tour

Sunday, July 29th, 2007

Hm, this tour thing started off pretty retarded. After spending a whole day watching regional weather reports and sitcom re-runs, I had to repair a broken live-set, fix tickets, commit fruit fly genocide and pack my bags in the first morning of this 2,5 week “tour”. I was going to the Formanova Festival in Denmark by train. To cut a long story short, I missed 2 trains, managed to get a ticket sales person to say “There is no way to complain. There are no names here. It’s all your fault, for using Internet.” and arrive 20 hours late to the festival. Totale Friday the 13th stylee! But me, Korvex and Cris got to the festival in time to see Duracell and Karsten Pflum do their thing! Other highlights of the festival included Isan, Rumpistol and the mysteriously wasted Dan - normally spotted passed out at microparties in Malmö. Here is a 10 minute video of most concerts of the festival.

yeah

Ok, pause in Malmö with falafel slacking and looking for scales to see if my luggage fit that damn Ryan Air 15 kilo limit. My friend Kim came to the rescue, and then we went on a Varberg-esque frenzy around Malmö, featuring projectile goose-shit catapult fountains and intoxication. Later that evening we lost the scales and got our first hardcore gay harassment in the toilet at Debaser! Ajaj! Next day I managed to find the airport and flight, and arrived in Madrid almost 2 hours late to find Rubeck who’d been watching a passed out stoner teen being harassed by security people at Nuevos Ministeros. Got to Bilbao the next day for a few days of hard data labour with Entter. We remixed C64 audio and visuals with RAM-hacking and worked on the forthcoming data karaoke. We also played a concert at Euskal Encounter - a huge demo/lan-party which was surprisingly silent and tidy. First time I got to sign an autograph on a laptop!

data data!data!

Live-recording from Euskal Encounter (trashy)

I found my way back to Sweden in time for the pre-pre-BFP-party with the cream of the 8-bit underground elite squadz. Non stop hard data action, until going to the pre-BFP party in Fabriken, Helsingborg. The following day the party started, and I was conveniently trashed but kept on computing and in the end I had at least 5 songs in the competitions, under various pseudonyms. Me and Autoboy also did a dual-C64 tracker jam concert! I can recommend all the amiga music, Cool Ska Cool by Up Rough (youtube), Appetizer by Durex, Goa Brudbilder 2 by Hack n’ Trade, Deep Throat by Durex, and so on. Watch photos and download everything here

oh yeah

My photos from this whole ordeal is here.
